The Wisconsin Speed Skating Club invites you to join us in our exciting sport! Our club is proud to have produced numerous athletes that have skated in past Winter Olympics. It includes members of all ages and abilities. We pride ourselves on welcoming newer skaters who are just learning the basics of speedskating while maintaining a strong tradition of producing skaters that have gone onto success at the national and Olympic levels. The Pettit National Ice Center is one of only two indoor Olympic ovals in the country. During our long track practices, members routinely practice and share the ice with Olympic and Olympic caliber speed skaters. The regular season generally runs from July to Early March. However, skaters are welcome to join at any point throughout the year. Fees are prorated. We concentrate on both long and short track. Please see our calendar page for a detailed schedule, including limited skating in May and June. We offer speed skate rentals and the Pettit offers complimentary use of the newly refurbished running track for parents while the kids are practicing. Please join us for a practice or two, free of charge to try it out. Come, be a part of this unique, graceful and powerful sport!
